MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN OF THE PLC TO ALL WESTERN TOGOLANDERS

Peace be to you, fellow citizens of Western Togoland,
Our recent announcement which brought much confusion in the minds of many people calls for
clarification.
One single word UNION is the source of misunderstanding for a lot of people so we have to set it
straight for you.
We want to assure you that the PLC has not departed from the call for a constitutionally elected
government of Western Togoland. This alone is what we are looking for. Our mention of the
regularization of the informal union between Western Togoland and Ghana which is in the books of the
UN is naturally upon this condition.
The PLC Steering Committee, therefore, wishes to assure you that there is no change from our demand
for a constitutional process to achieve our goal. This process does not violate any law in creation
We also want to emphasize that we are not going to takeover power as people are expecting from us
because that is criminal.
We shall surely guide you to write your own laws, look upon those laws and choose your own
government.
We are therefore appealing to you all to be at peace and cooperate with us.
We also invite all groups on the ground to hasten the public education for lawful activity and community
development in all communities the interest of the present and future generations. We shall soon come
out for public opinion on the laws to guide us all.
