Dear Peoples of Western Togoland, coming Thursday, 11th February, 2021 is another special day in the United Nation’s system. It is a day set aside for drawing attention to women and girls in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The Western Togoland Technology Incubator started with very brilliant young women who were striving to perform well in the fields of Nursing, Medicine, Mechanical and Solar Engineering. They are currently relaxed and performing their routine government jobs only.
Due to the antagonistic attitude of Ghanaians towards the name Western Togoland, these pioneers of what could be of highest benefit to Ghana as well have dropped out for fear of arrest. Those young women have now withdrawn from their creative adventures that could prop Ghana high in Science and Technology simply because the name Western Togoland is under persecution. OH WHAT A SHAME TO THIS UNION?
Due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions and for the sake of the prevailing wicked and uncalled for persecution of the Peoples’ Liberation Council of Western Togoland in Ghana we have postponed this year’s programs meant to promote FEMALE INVOLVEMENT IN SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATHEMATICS. We hope the authorities will come to realize the importance of our organization ant its programmes to the Union of Ghana and Western Togoland.
Not relenting in our good intentions we, the, Peoples’ Liberation Council (PLC) of Western Togoland wish to remind parents, teachers, educational institutions and all authorities in the Union of Ghana and Western Togoland to take seriously the following words of the UN Secretary-General, António Guterres.
“On this International Day, I urge commitment to end bias, greater investments in science, technology, engineering and math education for all women and girls as well as opportunities for their careers and longer-term professional advancement so that all can benefit from their ground-breaking future contributions,”
THANK YOU.
